ALL GOATS ARE TESTED CLEAN FOR CAE, CL & Johne's

Buyer will be fully responsible for any and all costs involving shipping. This includes the ADGA registration ($15-$20), Vet health check ($60), and transportation. Transportation pricing varies but figure a cost around $350. My husband Derek will be delivering the majority of the kids this spring. However, we also use a ground transporter we love and trust.

Buyer will be responsible to pick up or arrange transportation for their purchased goat no later than time of weaning, which is eight weeks of age. If purchased goat is not picked up or transported by time of weaning, or other arranged time, buyer will be charged a boarding fee of $5 per day. If a goat is not picked up on arranged date, and new arrangements were not made, the animal will be re-listed for sale and payment will not be refunded.

Pricing of an animal will differ depending on quality or traits. Our pricing ranges from $600 - $1200

All pregnant does will be given their annual CD&T vaccine four week before kidding. All kids two weeks old will be put on a Coccidiosis prevention plan. At 4 weeks old all kids will receive their first CD&T vaccine and wormed. At 6 weeks old all kids will receive their CD&T booster. Tattoos and disbudding will be done as needed. I realize there are some buyers that prefer their kid not be vaccinated or disbudded. I am more than happy to meet your preference as long as the kid has been paid for in full.

All kids are separated from their dams as early as 2 days old. Leaving the kids on their dams for 2 day ensures they will be getting all the colostrum feedings they need. Once we separate the kids will be bottle fed with goats milk. All of our kids are very friendly and have a lot of interaction with humans.

We feed our goats high quality alfalfa hay and browse that grows on our property which includes mesquite leaves, mesquite beans and native grasses and brush. All animals that leave our farm will be healthy and disease free. We will not be responsible for the health of any animal once it has left our custody. If an animal was purchased and happens to die before it leaves our farm the money can be transferred to another animal.

We are always breeding with one thing in mind. To improve the breed. All of the goats at Blue Cactus Ranch are of high quality. Though we breed our goats for betterment of the herd, not all goats meet our expectations. This is sometimes obvious at an early age and goats will be culled or sold as pets if not good quality. In most cases, you will not know the quality of the animal until it has matured. For does, after they freshen. For bucks, after their daughters freshen. In the case of a doe, she may have a beautiful first freshen udder and the coming years doesn't show as great of potential. On the other hand, a doe's first freshen udder may not be the greatest but allowing the doe time to mature may show mass improvement. In the case of a buck, his proof of quality is in the daughters he throws. Ideally, beautiful daughters with full udders out of different dams. When purchasing a young goat, there is no guarantee it will be great quality. Even if the goat is of great quality, there is no guarantee it will blend well with your goat's genetics. Every breeding is a gamble. Sometimes genes from two outstanding lines do not blend well genetically.

If we sell breeding stock that proves to be infertile (backed up with a Vet or AI collector's detailed report for verification) we may feel an obligation to replace it with our choice of something comparable, depending on availability. We will require the the infertile animal's certificate to be turned over to us for the replacement.
